Töltött körte – Stuffed Pear


    2 Tbs lemon juice
    ½ cup (120 g) sugar
    4 firm pears
    ½ cup (50 g) ground walnuts
    1 Tbs sour cream
    1 packet of vanilla sugar


  • Combine one tablespoon of lemon juice with 2¼ cups (500 ml) water and bring to a boil. 
  • Peel and halve the pears,  remove the cores and cook them almost through in the syrup. 
  • They should stay slightly firm.
  • Combine the remaining lemon juice with the  nuts, sour cream, and vanilla sugar, and form little balls with the mixture.
  • Remove the pear halves from the syrup and garnish each with one ball.
  • As in the illustration, the filled pears can also be served on a bed of whipped cream and decorated with chocolate sauce.
